TAKING THE LEAP
I put an ad in Craiglist Seattle for anyone to show me an online business that was legitimate and didn't base its earnings on selling the business to others. I was looking for something that actually sold a product that was useful and had quality. I fully expected to be bombarded with people trying to sell me their network marketing schemes but really, in the week that I had it up, I only got four responses.
The first response was for Government Grants. I'd never buy into any of that because I know that the information is free for everyone. So why would I sell something to someone that they can get it for free on the internet. That seemed too dishonest. (Want to know about Government Grants? Go to Grants.gov, its free.)
The second one, I never did find out what it was. The guy was playing games. I'm not sure if he wanted me to beg or what but he never revealed what his company was, and continually bragged about how much he and his sponsor made. He kept my attention for about two days, then I gave up. If I have to guess, I'm not interested. I was interested in the beginning but then realized that I wouldn't want to work with a jerk like that anyway. He contacted me a few days later telling me that I missed out on a perfect opportunity...WHATEVER!
The third one was pretty interesting. It's called Local Ad Link. They've created a program where companies can advertise on the internet, instead of yellow pages, and be targeted to certain zip codes as well as optimized on the major search engines. It's a new start up company, since November 2008, and sales are pretty good so far. Businesses are ready for new ways to advertise. 80% of US households use the internet instead of the yellowpages so buying an ad in the yellowpages is not effective advertising. And Local Adlink is cheaper than advertising through Google Adwords or the Yellow Pages. (I did join this one so contact me if you're interested in this.)
The last email I received I got really excited about. I don't know how I found it, I must have clicked on a link by accident but it came up with an ad for an internet marketing business called Carbon Copy Pro. It's a turn key system that once you get it all set up, all you have to do is market your website. And the products that they sell are informative for the times that we are in...they're financial education packages.
So, I read through the website and I signed up to get more information and to fill out an application. They say on the website that they have to go through the application to see if you fit what they are looking for. I'm not sure yet if that is a ploy or not but I filled out the application. Then another website came up, advertising their business in a box program, which teaches you the system and teaches you everything you need to know about marketing.
I am really excited after reading about Carbon Copy Pro, excited to get started. This seems like a real 'own your own business' opportunity. I purchased both the application kit and the Business in a Box which they call Bib.
So far I'm in to it:
$39.95 Application kit, and Million Dollar Mind Program
$395.00 for the 'Business in a Box' program.
